HELP RECOVERY EFFORTS FOR THOSE IN CARIBBEAN COMMUNITIES AFFECTED BY HURRICANE MELISSA:

Submission Guidance

Most WEF events use our submission portal website from Attendee Interactive. WEF conferences have three different submission types: individual abstract, session proposal, and workshop

When submitting, review your conference's Call for Content - typically found on the conference's webpage. The call will include the topics we are seeking as well as the review criteria. Topics and review criteria vary based on event.

Individual Abstracts

Abstracts should clearly define the objective, status, methodology, findings, and significance of the investigation, project, program, or study. Relevant project data and research should be included. Do not submit general write-ups without accompanying data.

Session Proposals

Session Proposal submissions must include an overview, description, and full 90-minute agenda with a cohesive theme or topic with the goal of knowledge exchange or development.

  • Overview: Short summary of your session. Think of this as your elevator pitch that can be used as a marketing tool for your session.
  • Description: Should be 7,000 characters or less and include short presentation abstracts, explanation of how presentations connect and build upon each other, and describe participant engagement activities that complement the presentations.
  • Agenda: Includes maximum of 3 speakers and 2 facilitators within 90-minute time frame while including interaction for adult learners. Presenters included in the agenda should not all represent the same utility or organization.

Workshops

Workshop submissions must include a half-day (4-hours) or full-day (8-hours) agenda with a cohesive theme or topic with the goal of encouraging knowledge exchange among participants.

  • Interaction: Workshop must include interactivity well-integrated (at least 50%) throughout the workshop schedule. Do not hold interaction until the end of the day.
  • Facilitators: All workshop presenters are considered of facilitators of learning with the goal of stimulating thought and intellectual curiosity amongst participants. Therefore, all presentation should be a max of 30 minutes.
