Q: Who is eligible to apply for the recognition program?
A: Public and private water sector utilities of all sizes that can demonstrate achievement of the application requirements are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have had no major violations of their National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit requirements for the previous year from the date of application.
Q: How do I apply?
A: Please download the NSmart 2022 Application. Complete the application and upload the application to the Open Water online platform https://wef.secure-platform.com/a/solicitations/155/home by February 28, 11:59 PM EDT.
Q: Is there a cost to apply for recognition?
A: The Recognition Program is free of cost to participants.
Q: When are the 2021 applications due?
A: Applications must be received by February 28, 2022 11:59 PM EDT
Q: What if I have questions about eligibility or the application?

Q: Can I include attachments with my application?
A: Attachments, including graphics, charts, photos or video will be accepted as part of an application package. A photograph is requested in the online portion of the application. Videos can not exceed 500 MB.
Q: When will applicants be informed if they are selected?
A: Applicants will be notified of judging decisions by April 1, 2022.
Q: What recognition will successful applicants receive?
A: Honorees for 2022 will be recognized in May in a format TBD.
