Every two years, the odor community comes together to share the latest developments, resolve challenges, and network, and this year the Odors and Air Pollutants Conference takes place in Portland, Oregon from March 25-28.  A committed team of volunteers have worked for months to develop the conference program, including speakers from across the world who will share their experiences in many different forums. 

We start the conference with our Sunday afternoon Workshop, "Procedures for Field Inspection of Odors in Ambient Air", where participants will work through helpful methodologies for evaluating odors in the ambient air around odorous facilities.  I am especially looking forward to the Opening General Session Monday morning, when we will learn about Oregon's Department of Environmental Quality's unique Odor Nuisance program. This will be followed by a dynamic panel discussion with industry leaders who will share their insight on the state of the industry and how they see the odor sector in the future, a thought-provoking discussion to challenge the status quo and attendees' current sense of the odor industry. 

The exhibits open promptly at 10:00am on Monday and flows into the beginning of our technical sessions later that morning. Among 60 presentations, we have two mobile sessions where attendees will learn from exhibitors at their booths with models and display materials that are not feasible in a typical symposium setting. Plus we have networking events both Monday and Tuesday evenings to allow additional time to interact with speakers, exhibitors, and colleagues.
