On June 28, the WEF Government Affairs Member Association Subcommittee held a webinar to help inform WEF Members of local regulatory and legislative issues that affect MAs in various regions.

The webinar  was the first in a series of quarterly webinars and included an update on legislative and regulatory issues from Senior Director Claudio Ternieden, as well as updates on key regional issues and initiatives by panelists from Regions 1 (Bob Fischer), 4 (Saya Qualls), 6 (Julie Nahrgang), and 9 (Chris Stacklin).  These updates are meant to help inform other MAs about regulatory trends – and how other regions are working to manage and explore them.

During the webinar, panelists repeatedly mentioned Issues including PFOS/PFOA, blending, integrated planning, cooperative federalism, hydrologic connection, and more, showing more often than not that many of the same issues are of concern throughout the country – though various regions may have different approaches to address them.
