As expectations for climate disclosure and accountability continue to grow, water and wastewater utilities need credible, sector specific approaches to greenhouse gas accounting. This webcast introduces the Water Sector Climate Emissions Quantification Guidelines and the WSCER spreadsheet tool developed under Water Research Foundation Project 5188. Participants will gain a clear understanding of how the Guidelines provide a consistent, transparent framework for developing organization wide GHG inventories across Scopes 1, 2, and 3. The session highlights how the WSCER tool operationalizes the Guidelines through a structured, user friendly workflow that reduces guesswork and improves comparability. Key methodological features, including boundary definition, source screening, and emission factor selection, are explained in practical terms. The webcast concludes by showing how utilities can use the Guidelines and tool to strengthen reporting confidence and support informed operational, capital, and long range planning decisions.
