On March 8, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a new memo outlining its strategy to equitably deliver clean water through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The memo underscores provisions to ensure that disadvantaged communities fully benefit from these historic investments in the water sector.
On December 16, the Biden Administration released a new plan for removing lead pipes across the U.S. via the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This plan — a National Primary Drinking Water Regulation on Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI) — includes the goal to remove all lead service lines by the end of President Biden’s first term.

Todd Saums and Tom McGrain, who operate and manage water resource recovery facilities for the Northwestern Water and Sewer District (Bowling Green, Ohio), spent 8 days last month in the Bahamas assisting with recovery efforts that are still underway after Hurricane Dorian devastated the island chain in early September.
