Change to Competition Age Requirement!
The requirement to be at least 15 years old by April 15th to enter the U.S. SJWP competition has been changed to August 1st. Students must be in grades 9-12, an be 15 years old by August 1, and no older than 20 on September 1.
New Hampshire Student Deepika Kurup Wins the 2014 U.S. Stockholm Junior Water Prize!
On June 14, 2014, Deepika Kurup from Nashua High School South, Nashau, NH, was named the national winner of the 2014 U.S. Stockholm Junior Water Prize for her project, “A Novel Photocatalytic Pervious Composite for Degrading Organics and Inactivating Bacteria in Wastewater.” Kurup competed against 54 U.S. SJWP state winners from 48 states spanning the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands who converged in Herndon, Virginia to compete for the 2014 U.S. Stockholm Junior Water Prize national title, $10,000, and an all-expense paid trip to Stockholm Sweden to compete at the international SJWP competition.
