The Water Environment Federation is pleased to announce the 2nd Membrane Applications Specialty Conference covering the latest research and experience in the design and operation of membrane treatment systems for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants. The conference will focus on Tertiary Membrane Filtration, Membrane Bioreactors and Nanofiltration/Reverse Osmosis applications. Recent membrane system developments, more stringent effluent limits, and market economics have led to membranes having broad acceptance and application. Membranes are being used to achieve very high quality effluent for reuse, water source protection, and sensitive receiving waters applications.
This conference will bring together environmental professionals to discuss current and emerging membrane technologies and applications in wastewater treatment, including large-scale examples, decentralized treatment, sewer mining facilities, and water reuse, each using one or more membrane technologies such as microfiltration/ultrafiltration membranes (either in tertiary filtration configurations or as membrane bioreactors), and nanofiltration/reverse osmosis. It will examine current research, design, and operational issues associated with each application and technology. It will provide valuable information for researchers, regulators, designers, technology developers, municipal agencies, industrial professionals, and others seeking to understand the full picture of the latest developments and practical experiences on this important topic. Abstracts are being solicited for each of the three primary conference tracks: 1) Membrane Bioreactors, 2) Tertiary Membrane Filtration and 3) Nanofiltration/Reverse Osmosis.
