buried natural gas piping condition assessment

Looking for suggestions to assess the condition of buried natural gas piping on a wastewater treatment plant site.  Our system is 1-inch through 4-inch steel pipe that feeds co-gen units, flare pilot and other essential equipment.  We have considered pressure testing but are looking for ideas or experience with other options.  Thank you.

If you can't get any other help, try going through NACE, www.nace.org .  They are the organization where you could get contacts on monitoring/identifying corrosion including natural gas piping.  I noticed their home page has a link to inspectors.
