 WEA of Ontario

The Water Environment Association of Ontario is pleased to announce the appointment of Lyle Shipley as the Association's new Executive Director.  Lyle's work in the private sector as the Principal of a business strategy and sustainability consulting firm adds another layer to his extensive experience in acquiring and engaging members and volunteers to achieve success within the non-profit association sector.  Lyle is a graduate of the University of Toronto and has an MBA from Ryerson University.

***The Francis Marion Hotel** is sold out of rooms.  The WEASC has arranged a limited amount of rooms at the two hotels listed below for a Wednesday and Thursday night stay.  The Charleston Water System has also offered to provide limited shuttle service to and from the meeting (at no cost to the attendee).  Details on time will be provided at a later date.   At this time you may want to consider the following hotel options::

WEFMAX is unlike any other meeting providing the members of the House of Delegates, MA Leaders, and WEF Staff an opportunity to meet, discuss challenges, and share successes.

WEASC has blocked a limited number of hotel rooms at the Francis Marion Hotel with a special rate per night of $139.00 single/double occupancy plus city, state, and hotel tax of currently at 13.5%.  This rate is only available until 5:00 pm local time on Monday, April 21, 2014.  Attendees are responsible for making their own reservations by contacting the hotel directly.  When making a reservation, please advise the hotel you are booking under the "WEFMAX South Carolina" group.

All reservations must be accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card.  In order to avoid a cancellation fee of 1 night room and tax for an individual reservation, the hotel must receive notification of cancellation no later than 5 pm, two days before arrival date (48 hours in advance) of the reservation.  Credit identification will be required from each individual at check-in, in order that these charges may be billed to the individual's account.  Based on availability, the special room rate will be offered to those staying 3 days prior to and 3 days after the meeting for up to 5 rooms.  There will be an early departure fee assessed of 50% of the room rate plus sales tax (7.5%) upon check-out to all early departed reservations.  Check-In time is 4:00 pm | Check-Out time is 12:00 pm.

Hotel parking is available at the prevailing rates, currently $19 per day plus tax for valet service, which can be added to your room folio, and $14 per day for self-parking which must be paid directly to the parking garage in cash, MasterCard or Visa accepted.  These rates are subject to change without prior notificiation


Temperature ranges from a high of 80 degrees to a night low of 69 degrees with an average of 3.67 inches of rain for the month of May.
