Love water and storytelling? This scholarship can help you experience WEFTEC in person — and bring new ideas back to your team.
WEFTEC is one of the biggest gatherings in the water sector — and in 2026, the community is heading to New Orleans. If you work in communications and want to sharpen your skills, expand your network, and learn what’s next in water and wastewater, this is a great opportunity to get there.
Selected Communications Scholarship recipients receive support to attend, connect, and learn alongside water professionals from across the industry at WEFTEC September 24–30.
If selected, you’ll receive:
- Complimentary full conference and exhibition registration
- Hotel accommodations for 3 nights
- Up to $650 in airfare support
- $350 for meals and incidentals
Here are a few reflections from last year’s Communications Scholars:
- “I think everyone has so much information to share, so you just have to put yourself out there and talk to people and get their knowledge.”
- “I’ve been very involved in the water side, but there is so much to learn on the wastewater side. It’s been a great learning experience.”
- “I’ve enjoyed connecting with fellow scholars, mentors, and industry leaders. I’ve walked my shoes off at WEFTEC!”
Don’t sit this one out. Join the conversation, meet new people, expand your network, and come home with fresh stories and practical takeaways you can use right away.
Applications are open May 15 – June 15. Those selected will be notified by August 1.
