MA Grants Program
WEF’s longstanding MA Grants Program supports MAs through funding for MA operations, seed grants, and planning and training. Funding may be available in years when WEF records an operating surplus and exceeds its targeted reserves. MAs may be awarded a single grant per year through an online form on the MA Resource Center. Funds will be awarded twice annually, along with updates on remaining fund dollars available for distribution.
Federation Impact Grant Program
The Federation Impact Grant Program is a new $1 million, three-year investment in WEF’s Member Association community, funded by proceeds from the sale of WEF’s former headquarters. The program reinvests those resources in MAs to support organizational resilience, innovation, leadership development, and community impact.
The Federation Impact Grant Program includes four areas of support:
Foundational MA Investment Fund
$450,000 to support core organizational needs, infrastructure and technology improvements, membership growth, student engagement, volunteer development, and participation in WEF programs.
MA-Led Innovation and Pilot Program Fund
$350,000 to support new ideas and pilot projects that advance priorities such as workforce development, community engagement, the circular water economy, and other innovative approaches that strengthen the water sector.
Centennial Legacy Support Fund
$100,000 to help Member Associations preserve and celebrate their history, document their contributions to the water profession, and participate in activities associated with WEF’s upcoming Centennial.
MA Emergency and Resilience Reserve
$100,000 to help Member Associations respond to unforeseen challenges and maintain organizational continuity during unexpected events or disruptions.
