July 26, 2017 — EPA has announced the names of 12 entities in nine states that were selected to apply for Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) loans.

On July 19, EPA announced the names of 12 entities in nine states that were selected to apply for Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) loans.

Combined, they requested a total of $2.3 billion in loans to help finance $5.1 billion in water infrastructure investment. The types of projects include wastewater collection and treatment, drinking water distribution and treatment, stormwater management, and water recycling projects.

The applicants were chosen from a large group that represent large and small communities from across the country that submitted letters of interest to EPA in April.
