This is a Sponsor eShowcase presented by Veolia Water Technologies
Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) provides wastewater services to more than 400,000 customers in and around Knoxville, TN. KUB owns and operates four wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) and as part of their Long Term Control Plan, with the help of CDM, they evaluated and implemented improvements to address wet weather capacity issues for remediation of sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs). The extensive evaluation looked at a variety of conditions and potential solutions and took into consideration cost and non-cost factors, process performance, as well as potential construction and operational impacts during implementation. Biologically Enhanced High Rate Clarification (BEHRC) was recommended and this presentation discusses the project drivers, implementation plan, and operational aspects of how BEHRC has helped KUB to successfully mitigate SSOs.
