Does anyone have any good/bad to say about the XL60? I am in the market for a new benchtop meter - and it is between this and the Orion 5 Star. The only problem w/ the 5 Star is the DO probe. Does the YSI 5010 fit into the XL60?

Thanks!!

I don't have any experience with the XL60 but I doubt the YSI probe will hook up to it.  Have you considered Hach meters?  They have a new LDO DO probe too.

yes, I have been thinking more and more about it. I am really in the market for a pH meter w/ direct readout. It would be nice to have the extra DO option just in case something happens to mine, but I have 2 ysi probes and I found out that they won't attach to the XL60 meter. I have it in my budget to get the XL60, but I don't want to make a jump decision and then regret it later, like when the LDO gets accepted thru EPA.

I'm pretty sure the YSI 5010 DO probe will only work with the YSI 5100 meter (although the probe shown with the XL60 sure looks like a YSI).

I'm currently using the YSI setup for DO / BOD, and a recently purchased Orion 4 Star pH / ISE meter, which I'm pleased with so far. I had a Fisher XL series meter to test out, but found the Orion easier to use - most likely because I've used Orion meters for over 20 years.

thanks Sue! Orion 4 or 5 Star was really the next in line. I'm gonna try and find out the deal w/ the Hach LDO procedure for acceptance in my region and go from there. I don't wanna spend all my $ and then find out I could've got the LDO instead for DO.
