The SPX100D hose pump is designed for challenging solids applications. The pump does not use valves, seals, or rotors. It can run dry and handle high-grit or air-entrained solids. With flows up to 400 gal/min, the pump is suitable for scum, thickener underflow, and belt press or centrifuge feed. The SPX can pump corrosives, abrasives, shear-sensitive fluids, high-viscosity fluids, high-density fluids, large solids, and long stringy materials. The peristaltic hose pump is designed to be virtually maintenance-free and provide easy access to shims and shoes with a shaft design to provide fail-safe operations. The High Flow direct-mount NAMUR solenoid valve for general purpose valve actuator applications features a compact design and flow capacity rating from 1.2 to 3.0 Cv. The valve is built with an anodized aluminum body and stainless steel spool with brass internal parts. It operates at pressures ranging from 30 to 150 lb/in.2 and is designed for direct mounting in any position on a NAMUR interface. An O-ring seal design increases sealing force at higher pressures and offers less breakaway resistance at lower pressures. The Sultan 34 Dual Transducer, a noncontact acoustic-wave transmitter, is designed to measure the levels of liquids, slurries, and solids. The system uses transducers to emit high-powered acoustic waves, which are reflected from the surface of the material being measured. Software processing enhances the correct signal and rejects echoes. Designed to minimize losses through the environment, the transducer allows more energy to be transmitted and returned. The system’s receiver circuitry is designed to identify and monitor low-level return signals and compensate for temperature to ensure maximum accuracy. Hawk Measurement Inc. (Middleton, Mass.).
The Tronic LevelGuard attachment for submersible transmitters is designed for difficult level-sensing applications where solids, slurry, or turbulence may be present. The 2-in. diaphragm is designed to provide sensitivity and performance even when used to monitor low liquid levels or assemblies buried in a layer of solids or slurry. The cable supplied with the pressure transmitters is designed to withstand more than 200 lb of strain. The series 83A Electromni actuator for ball valves, designed as a direct replacement for the Series 83, now includes a NEMA 4X-type enclosure to meet industry standards. The flanged cover and base plate design with a full-gasket, nitrile seal enhances sealing performance to keep external water out of the actuator enclosure. The compact actuator includes four captivated Type 304 stainless steel, hex-head, slotted-cap screws that fasten its cover and base halves together. Four nitrile cap-plugs cover the formerly exposed motor mounting bolts. Molded Type 304 stainless steel inserts form an ISO F03, F04, or F05 valve mounting pattern, and 0.375-in. The Deltatop differential-pressure flowmeter for measuring gas, liquid, and steam in 0.5- to 24-in. pipes is designed to be safe, accurate, and reliable. It includes an averaging pitot tube and features precision-machined orifice plate primary devices with flanged unions, manifold, and transmitter. The bullet-shaped, solid-piece construction and the location of low-pressure ports are designed to make the system clog-free and precise with a signal-to-noise ratio for stable flow readings across the measurement range. The Spiralift® SC Screenings Conditioner cleans, conditions, washes, and compacts screenings. A high-impact spray–wash zone adds high-pressure washing in the drop area between the grinder and the auger. As the screenings are received from the bar screen, they are finely ground by a Taskmaster® grinder and spray-washed. The solids then drop into a second washing zone for intensive washing under high pressure. They are transported to a powerful screw press, where liquids and contaminants are drained and the solids are compacted. The compact, freestanding system can be placed in tight plant locations and is designed to produce cleaner and more homogenous output. The Original™ Series T2 Metal Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm pumps for use in various wastewater applications offer flow rates to 132 L/min (35 gal/min) and can handle pressures up to 8.6 bar (125 lb/in.2). The 25-mm (1-in.) pump has wetted housing, water chambers, and manifolds constructed of aluminum, making it suitable for solids-laden wastewater treatment applications. Nonwetted housings are constructed of brass and aluminum. The pumps have suction-lift capabilities of 5.18 m (17 ft) for dry products and 9.45 m (31 ft) for wet products while being able to handle solids with diameters reaching 3 mm (0.125 in.). The pumps are equipped with the Turbo-Flo™ air-distribution system that operates only on differential pressure. Wilden Pump and Engineering LLC (Grand Terrace, Calif.).
The Impulse™ Series continuous time domain reflectometry (TDR) level transmitter is designed to provide accurate measurement of total level, distance, or volume outputs. The system provides continuous level measurement of liquids to ranges up to 15 m (50 ft) with a two-wire 4–20-mA HART output signal. It has five different sensor types and is constructed of Type 316 stainless steel and Hastelloy C for use in environments that are classified hazardous with either “intrinsically safe” or “explosionproof” installation requirements. The system operates in temperature ranges from –40°C to 200°C (–40°F to 392°F) and with process pressures up to 580 lb/in.2 (40 bar). Other features include integral display and keypad for local configuration, simple and easy-to-navigate configuration setup, and dual-compartment housing separating wiring terminals from the electronic circuitry, display, and keypad. Thermoplastic Centrifugal Pump
The SUMP-GARD® model SGK-2700 thermoplastic centrifugal pump handles flows to 4500 L/min (1200 gal/min) at heads to 200 ft (60 m). The pump includes wetted components designed to eliminate chemical attacks associated with pumping of process fluids, plant effluents, and industrial or municipal water and wastestreams while minimizing abrasion. The alloy shaft, which is isolated from fluid contact by a thick-sectioned thermoplastic sleeve, transfers torque from a 125-hp (93-kW) motor and can employ a balanced 14-in. (356-mm) diameter impeller. The pump’s large-diameter cantilevered shaft is designed to eliminate the necessity of immersed bearings and enables operation for short or extended periods of dry-run operation with no damage to the pump. The FCL400 series free-chlorine sensors feature amperometric measurement technology. The sensors are designed for use in water treatment disinfection applications and for use with chlorine generators, pools, and drinking water systems. The sensors are available in several ranges for detecting free chlorine at various levels, including the FCL402 for the 0–2-ppm range, the FCL405 for the 0–5-ppm range, and the FCL410 for 0–10-ppm range. Sensors output an isolated 4–20-mA output signal and can be used in new installations or installed as a replacement for other 4–20-mA output free-chlorine sensors. Membrane cap and fill solution are replaced easily to maximize sensor life. An optional flowmeter is available to help provide consistent flow for added system stability.
