Soil Moisture Sensors
The two new plug-and-play Soil Moisture Smart Sensors provide high-accuracy measurements of volumetric water content in soil and integrate Decagon ECH2O™ dielectric probes for precise, long-term soil moisture monitoring. Suitable for use in a wide range of applications, the new sensors provide low sensitivity to temperature and saline effects. The Smart Sensor design enables the sensors to be plugged into HOBO Weather Stations and Micro Stations and automatically be recognized without complicated wiring, programming, or calibration requirements. Onset Computer Corp. (Bourne, Mass.).
The 6810–6815 Series 1 HP and 2 HP Progressing Cavity Grinder Pumps include unique-to-the-industry heat-dispersing fins plus upper and lower ball-bearing construction, a hardened stainless steel cutter–disc, and a stainless steel hydraulic pump rotor. With flows up to 15 gal/min and heads to 240 ft TDH, this series is ideal for new or retrofit pressure sewers and housing developments. Zoeller Co. (Louisville, Ky.).
The DPR-F and DMD-F Series Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) probes feature a very high degree of photometric accuracy resulting from precise control of the optical ray directions and number of reflections within the ATR element. The F Series probes are fiber-optic coupled and use silver halide optical fibers to provide flexible coupling between the probe and an FTIR mid-IR spectrometer. Axiom Analytical Inc. (Irvine, Calif.).
The DATAWATCH™ 7100 and 8100 machine monitors are designed to protect valuable plant assets from degradation and catastrophic failure. Each monitor offers high-quality signal conditioning with a sampling rate of 125 milliseconds, regardless of the number of channels. The 7100 model features 6 or 12 input channels and as many as 12 relay outputs, while the 8100 model features 12, 18, 24, 30, 36, 42, or 48 input channels and as many as 27 relay outputs. Metrix Instrument Co. (Houston).
The RTP20 high-speed rotary transport pump offers configuration flexibility and ease of maintenance. It provides additional size with exceptional performance, advanced durability, application flexibility, and ease of installation to help users achieve enhanced productivity for a lower total cost of ownership. The series’ tri-lobe design, customizable per customer specifications, is compact and lightweight, and features removable feet and multiple mountings for easy vertical or horizontal adaptation. Viking Pump (Cedar Falls, Iowa).
The BEMF motion-monitoring device is designed to ensure that motor-driven equipment has stopped completely before access is granted. While an electric motor is rotating, whether powered or not, an electromotive force is generated. This force is measured by sensors in the BEMF unit. A key, corresponding to a lock on the machine’s guard hatch, will not be released until the sensors register zero speed. The key is then released and can be used to gain access to the machine. Castell Interlocks (Erlanger, Ky.).
These large-bore shaft collars are offered in one- and two-piece configurations in inch, metric, and pipe sizes up to 16 in. Manufactured to specification from steel, stainless steel, aluminum, bronze, and other alloys, they feature smooth bores, widths from 0.5 in. to 20 in., and large alloy socket cap screws in sizes from 1 in. to 8 in. Stafford Manufacturing Corp. (Wilmington, Mass.).
