Pressure Transmitters
The 364 pressure and differential pressure transmitters are designed to eliminate the need for bolts, gaskets, and flanges — the traditional leak paths in pressure transmitters. Several standard features include a lightweight, all stainless steel housing and process connection, along with a Hastelloy® C-276 diaphragm for corrosive process media. ABB (Warminster, Pa.).

Variable-Frequency Drive
The VLT® Micro Drive is a general purpose, variable-frequency drive designed for rugged and reliable, out-of-the-box, plug-and-play control of A/C motors up to 3 hp. Additional features include built-in A/C and D/C brake functions that help the drive transform kinetic energy from the application into braking power, intelligent heat management and coated electronics for maximized drive reliability and life, and the ability to copy settings via a local control panel to set up multiple drives easily. Danfoss Drives (Milwaukee).

Pipe-Bursting Cutter
This large-diameter steel cutter head is the latest in a series of new technology cutters for the Grundoburst static pipe-bursting system. The specifically designed bladed roller cutting head allows contractors to burst or split pipes up to 32 in. in diameter when used with the Grundoburst system. Pulled by a hydraulic bursting unit, the cutter head’s cutting wheels split the host pipe. An attached expander displaces the split pipe into the surrounding soil, simultaneously pulling in the new pipe. TT Technologies (Aurora, Ill.).

Design and Engineering Software
Version 3.0 of FLUENT® for Dassault Systemes’ CATIA® V5 software provides workflow enhancements and new features that further improve the integration of Fluent’s computational fluid dynamics technology. This version provides a fully generative relationship between engineering organizations’ manufacturing-ready geometry models and the flow and heat transfer analysis model. Ansys Inc. (Canonsburg, Pa.).

Vibration Transmitters
The ST6900 Series Case-Mounted Vibration Transmitters interface directly with PLC, DCS, and 4–20mA input monitors. The compact size enables installation in tight places. Model ST6911 is 4–20 mA proportional to acceleration, while Model ST6917 is proportional to velocity. These transmitters are rated for operation to 120˚C, and the frequency response ranges from 3 to 1000 Hz for velocity measurement. Metrix Instrument Co. (Houston).

Surveillance System
Version 3.0 of the Longwatch Video Surveillance System enables SCADA system operators to monitor their remote locations visually using existing communication networks. The system utilizes existing low-bandwidth or broadband communication networks to transmit video. New features include an Axis IP camera, card access to provide a higher level of security at remote locations, pan-tilt-zoom cameras, and an enhanced system integration. Longwatch (Norwood, Mass.).

Separation System
The Monster Separation System now incorporates a vortex grit-removal system called Grit Monster™ or a robust bar screen called Catenary Monster™. The Grit Monster incorporates a vortex swirl concentrator and the choice of an air-lift pump or a specialized grit pump to remove fine particulate, such as sand, gravel, coffee grounds, and egg shells. Grit is transferred to a rugged grit classifier for cleaning and dewatering. The Catenary Monster is a mechanically raked bar screen. The drive shaft is positioned at the top of the screen so there are no bearings, shafts, or sprockets submerged in the wastewater flow. JWC Environmental (Costa Mesa, Calif.).

Information Management
The GeoISE is a geographically enabled content management solution for utilities. Powered by MetaCarta (Cambridge, Mass.), GeoISE combines geographic search with traditional text or keyword search so that content in EMC® Documentum® repositories can be mapped, categorized, and displayed using geographic parameters on maps, GIS systems, and virtually any spatial display. GeoISE can quickly and efficiently search and retrieve documents, drawings, sketches, and procedures related to a particular address and place them on a map. Trinity Technologies (Wellesley, Mass.).

Ultraviolet Lamps
First Light Technologies’ full line of replacement UV lamps is guaranteed to be system-compatible with all First Light sterilization systems. Lamps are warranted for up to 12,000 hours. First Light Technologies Inc. (Poultney, Vt.).

Flow Sensor
The Signet 2552 Metal Magmeter, a rugged insertion flow sensor that permits hot-tap access to the pipe stream, allows for quick and easy installation without system shutdown, reducing overall costs. Three output choices are incorporated into a durable metal housing, providing a robust device capable of accurate flow sensing in extremely harsh environments. The 2552 can be mounted into a broad range of pipe sizes from 2 in. to 48 in. (DN50 to DN1200). The flow sensor is constructed of corrosion-resistant materials to ensure long service reliability and minimal maintenance. GF Piping Systems (Tustin, Calif.).

Vibration Meter
The Model SH2000 Portable Vibration Meter is designed to obtain spot measurements of machinery vibration. This unit features displacement, velocity, and acceleration modes to enable the user to perform basic vibration analysis. The accelerometer sensor has a removable magnetic mounting base for attachment of a stinger and is internally protected against thermal shock, electrical noise, and amplitude overload. Metrix Instrument Co. (Houston).

The Mobility series of FT-IR spectrometers was developed for use in the field. These are portable, rugged spectrometers built to move FT-IR spectroscopy out of the conventional analytical laboratory and closer to the source of the sample. The series has been designed to survive in rugged environments and be operated with little to no training by the user. Featuring an intuitive operating system and easy-to-use sample interface, the spectrometers provide users with actionable information so that decisions can be made on the spot. A2 Technologies (Danbury, Conn.).

Mass Flowmeter
The Sage Prime™ thermal mass flowmeter for gases features a bright new high-contrast, organic light-emitting diode display of flow rate, total, and temperature. It also has a graphical indication of flow rate and displays the calibration milliwatts for ongoing diagnostics. It has a new dual-sided compartment with a windowed explosionproof enclosure. The rear compartment, which is separated from the electronics, has large, easy-to-access, and well-marked terminals for ease of customer wiring. Sage Metering Inc. (Monterey, Calif.).

Gas Detection Controller
The ModCon 75 controller is a preprogrammed PLC designed to work specifically with the Ultima X gas monitor with X3 technology. This self-configuring, compact device controls and displays up to 25 Ultima X3 gas monitors. This controller offers ModBUS RTU output and an optional Ethernet interface. The MSA ModCon 75 controller provides ModBUS communication, 75 sensors per trunk, and 10 dry-contact relays. MSA (Pittsburgh).

This walk-behind, hand-operated minitrencher is designed to trench up to 30 ft/min.
