Gas Standards Generator
The 491M/B/SD Modular Gas Standards Generator dynamically blends precisely known VOC/TOC gas standards with parts-per-billion (ppb) and parts-per-trillion (ppt) analyte concentrations. Two modules provide two sequential stages of dilution. The first-stage 491M/B combines the analyte flow from Trace Source™ permeation tubes with a precisely controlled flow of pure dilution gas to form a ppb concentration mixture. In the second-stage 491M/SD, an aliquot of the ppb mixture is further diluted to form a ppt mixture. The permeation tubes are available for 500 analyte compounds. Kin-Tek Laboratories Inc. Flow Rate Measurement
With an advanced low-power microprocessor design, the new digital FlowCom™ register provides simultaneous flow rate and volumetric totalized flow data for the Mc® Propeller Series flowmeter in a wide range of water-monitoring applications. Designed to replace electromechanical counters, the FlowCom Model FC100 features an easy-to-read 2-line display. The 5-digit top line of the display indicates flow rate, and the 8-digit bottom line provides volumetric flow data. Up to 22 different output measurement units, including gallons, cubic feet, and liters, are user-selectable. McCrometer (Hemet, Calif.).
The MICROCAT® BioBag absorbs and treats surface and particulate oil in stormwater runoff contained in overflow impoundments and treatment units. The bag contains an environmentally safe oil absorbent and naturally occurring microbes capable of degrading the absorbed oil. The 4-in.-thick bag floats on the water surface, absorbing oil, reducing oily sheen, and lowering oil content of the contained runoff water to a level that permits disposal. The microbes in the bag can degrade the absorbed hydrocarbons to carbon dioxide, cell proteins, and water, which can be discarded in accordance with local and federal waste guidelines.
