The new Boerger EL Series with screw rotor tips handles flows up to 2600 gal/min, suitable for the membrane bioreactor process. While the FLA series was available for this pump output, this pump type had bearings on both sides. The EL series ensures that now the total size range from 1 m³ to 1000 m³ is available in a pump with bearings on one side. Boerger LLC (Minneapolis).
This new line of Hybrid Ultrasonic Flowmeters, the Sonic-Pro™ series, can measure fluid flow using either Doppler or Transit Time methods. It features noninvasive clamp-on transducers, custom metric algorithms, and an easy-reading display. Data are logged to a standard SD card format, and can accommodate as many as 30,000 events on the 32-MB SD card supplied with each unit. Blue White Industries (Huntington Beach, Calif.).
Stormwater Management Software
The XP-2D stormwater management software allows two-dimensional (2D) modeling for urban flooding. It is designed to establish the flow patterns in coastal waters, estuaries, rivers, floodplains, and urban areas where the flow patterns are essentially 2D in nature and would be awkward to represent using a 1D model. XP Software Inc. (Portland, Ore.).
This modular, nontoxic, in-line sanitization system employs pulsed UV light to kill DNA and prevent microorganisms from replicating on virtually any surface or package. The SteriPulse-XL® Surface Sanitization System can achieve up to 6 log kill. This noncontact system typically generates less than 100°F heat to prevent damage to plastic surfaces. The system consists of one or two lamps, a power supply, and controller that can be integrated into process systems. Xenon Corp. (Wilmington, Mass.).
The SGA series pressure gages feature a stainless steel case and are suitable for all media-compatible copper alloys. The gages are dry but easily can be filled in the field. Gages are available with lower or back-mount connections. An optional U-clamp mounting bracket is available for the 1.5-in. dial size units. A wide offering of ranges, from 15 to 1500 psi, make the gages suitable for a variety of applications. Dwyer Instruments Inc. (Michigan City, Ind.).
These stainless steel solenoid valves carry National Sanitary Foundation (NSF) 61 and 169 approvals, permitting their use in potable water or food-service applications. The valves also are accredited by the American National Standards Institute and the Standards Council of Canada. The new valve family is available in 2-way and 3-way constructions with type 316 stainless steel bodies, and features rugged threaded ports. ASCO (Florham Park, N.J.).
The 10K Specialty Media System features dual 10K vessels containing up to 10,000 lb of media per vessel, an integrated lead-lag pipe rack with backwash capability, and a safety work platform mounted on a compact skid. The system was designed to achieve higher flow rates while providing a more cost-effective, labor-saving alternative to traditional equipment commonly used for liquid filtration applications. BakerCorp (Seal Beach, Calif.).
