Chlorine Meter
The ExStik® Total Residual Chlorine Meter, Model CL200, now has a new offset adjustment feature. The CL200 reading in parts per million can now be precisely adjusted to match the value of a known standard or to agree with previously established references. The meter provides a direct reading of total chlorine from 0.01 to 10.00 ppm quickly, and eliminates the need to store and transport a sample solution back to the lab for analysis. The large LCD simultaneously displays both chlorine and temperature readings, and includes an analog bar graph to observe changes in solution. Extech Instruments (Waltham, Mass.). www.extech.com

Butterfly Valve
The Type 567 Butterfly Valve comes in large-diameter sizes up to 12 in. The valve incorporates a double eccentric operating principle that provides improved wear and easier operation. The valve’s off-center shaft allows the disc to completely disengage from the disc seal, even when partially open. This reduces seal friction and improves seal wear characteristics. The Type 567 also features a specially engineered body seal with a Q-shaped O-ring that eliminates the need for flat gaskets and is compatible with any flange adaptor design, including those with serrated faces. The inner body, discs, and bearings are available in a variety of materials. GF Piping Systems (Tustin, Calif.). www.gfpiping.com

Signal Converter
The IFC100 signal converter is designed to offer precise diagnostics of product, application, and instrumentation. It can measure electrode resistance and electrode noise for the volumetric indication of gas bubbles, solid particles, and chemical resistance. Coil resistance is monitored to assess magnetic-field quality and flowmeter temperature. The IFC 100 features a metal enclosure, a backlit display, and a push-button soft keypad. It also can be rotated in 90-degree increments. Krohne (Duisburg, Germany). www.KROHNE.com

Rotation Switch
The Rotation Switch Series for level-sensing of low-density and potentially explosive powders uses a rotating vane as a sensor to detect the level of a dust or powdered material. The vane is turned slowly by a brushless synchronous motor. As long as the level of the powder remains below the vane, the vane is free to turn. If the powder rises to the level of the vane, this stops the rotation. A switch turns off the synchronous motor and produces an output for an external control system. The switch can be used for powdered materials with low densities (more than 100 g/L). Hawk Measurement Systems (Phoenix). www.hawkmeasure.com

Preassembled Blower Package
The EasyAir X2 is a compact, preassembled, skid-mounted blower unit with all piping, valves, and instrumentation in place. Produced for both vacuum and pressure applications, the new package features a powder-coated noise enclosure plus easy access for service and maintenance. The package is available with a wide range of optional equipment and can be specifically designed to meet customer requirements. Dresser ROOTS (Houston). www.rootsblower.com

Spiral-Wound Membrane System
The MegaMagnum® Water Treatment System uses 18-in.-diameter spiral-wound reverse-osmosis elements. It is designed to reduce the cost, footprint, and installation time of municipal and industrial water treatment systems. The system is available in four configurations, with nominal flow capacity ranging from 0.5 to 2.0 mgd. The standard package includes flowmeters, pressure transmitters, a conductivity meter, a variable-frequency drive, and a human–machine interface with touch screen, data trending, and Ethernet access. Optional equipment includes systems for antiscalant dosing, acid dosing, chlorine monitoring, and clean-in-place. Koch Membrane Systems Inc. (Wilmington, Mass.).

The 4460 “banana” blade mixer features an 8.4-hp drive. Motors are high-quality squirrel-cage design using Class H insulation applied by trickle impregnation for a winding fill of more than 95%. High efficiency, in-line, parallel helical reducers are used. These reducers have a minimum service factor of 1.5, and the designs meet both AGMA and ISO requirements. Motor and reducer housings are made of ASTM A48-76 cast iron. Several coatings are available to meet the requirements of different applications. The fiberglass-reinforced polyurethane blades feature a swept-back design to allow rags and stringy material to slide off and leave the blades clear. ITT Flygt USA (Trumbull, Conn.). www.flygtus.com

Modeling Software
Version 9.0 of InfoWorks includes enhancements to four products: InfoWorks CS for wastewater management and sewerage provision; SD for stormwater; WS for water distribution and supply; and RS for river, channel, and floodplain flows. Improvements include the ability to model 2-D flows and to export models and results to Google Earth format for sharing across the Internet. This version is designed to provide greater accuracy in the simulation of flow behavior, particularly in areas of complex geometry.

Variable-Frequency Drives
The VLT® Series variable-frequency drives are now available with power through 1350 hp in 460 and 690 VAC. F1 frame models deliver power up to 1050 hp in an 86.8-in. × 55.1-in. × 23.9-in. footprint, while F2 frame models deliver up to 1350 hp in an 86.8-in. × 71.0-in. × 23.9-in. footprint. These drives also feature a unique cooling design that uses a ducted back channel to pass cooling air over heat sinks with minimal air passing through the electronics area. This enables 85% of the heat losses to be exhausted directly outside the enclosure. Several power, monitoring, enclosure, filtering, control, and convenience options and accessories are available. Danfoss Drives (Milwaukee). www.danfossdrives.com
