Ultrasonic Transmitter
The Optisound VU3X continuous ultrasonic level transmitter is designed to meet specific level or open-channel flow measurement needs by providing reliable, repeatable, and accurate (0.15%) continuous level measurement of liquids. It is capable of liquid level measurement to ranges up to 30 ft, with a 2-wire 4-20mA, HART output signal. The sensor is constructed of chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, and can operate in temperatures ranging from -40°F to 158°F and with process pressures up to 50 psig. Krohne Inc. (Peabdoy, Mass.).

Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers
These regenerative thermal oxidizers (RTOs) are used to abate volatile organic compounds and odors. They include a patented FLEXERAMIC® ceramic structured packing designed to resist siloxane clogging and maximize RTO uptime. Koch Knight LLC (East Canton, Ohio).

Fluid Extraction System
The SFT-2000 supercritical fluid-extraction system enables pressurization of carbon dioxide at flow rates up to 250 mL/min. The system incorporates an integrated preheater that is designed to ensure that the temperature of the fluid delivered to the extraction vessel is consistent. Standard configurations accommodate two vessels up to 1 L each or a single vessel as large as 2 L. Supercritical Fluids Technologies (Newark, Del.).

Magnetic Level Gauge
The 810 series magnetic level gauge is designed to provide reliable liquid-level measurement through the use of magnetic float technology that requires no external power. The gauges feature sealed measurement chambers constructed from stainless steel and measure liquid levels in ranges from 1 to 20 ft. Designs are available to handle fluid temperatures from –250°F to 750°F and pressures as high as 3480 lb/in.2. Brooks Instrument (Hatfield, Pa.).

The series IR6/IR7 dual-laser, extended-range infrared thermometer is designed to measure surface temperatures accurately from long distances. The hand-held device enables the user to read maximum, minimum, average, and differential readings. The high and low alarms give audible and visual indication of the process temperature, and the unit includes a dual magnetic base attachment that enables hands-free measurements. Dwyer Instruments Inc. (Michigan City, Ind.).

Portable Meter
The total suspended solids portable hand-held meter uses a multibeam alternating light method with an infrared diode system to enable a broad measuring range for both turbidity and suspended solids. It stores up to four different calibration curves for suspended solids and one for turbidity. The meter also recalibrates automatically for different locations or different types of solids. The meter’s internal memory stores up to 290 measuring values, including time, date, measurement, location, and homogeneity. The meter contains a probe made of stainless steel with a scratch-resistant window designed to withstand harsh environments. Hach Co. (Loveland, Colo.).
