Defender™ tank covers are custom-manufactured from industrial-grade materials to fit the profile of new or existing wastewater treatment or potable water tanks. Hydrogen gas detector
TS4000H intelligent hydrogen gas detector continuously monitors hydrogen at concentrations between zero and 500 ppm. It features a precision electrochemical hydrogen sensor, 4–20 mA output, 8-amp relays, and a 3-digit light-emitting-diode display. System electronics are contained within an explosionproof housing, so the gas sensor information can be processed at the sensor site. The sensor may be remote-mounted up to 2000 ft (610 m) away from the electronics. In addition, the system can be configured to detect a variety of other gases, including ammonia, carbon monoxide, chlorine, chlorine dioxide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen sulfide, nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, oxygen (deficiency), ozone, and sulfur dioxide. AquataPoxy materials protect potable water infrastructures. AquataPoxy A-6 SuperFlex is a flexible coating designed to be environmentally friendly. The zero-volatile organic compound, corrosion-resistant, two-part epoxy SuperFlex is tested and certified by NSF International (Ann Arbor, Mich.) to NSF/ANSI Standard 61. The MegaMc® PolyHorse™ is a pipe-handling system for polyethylene pipe job sites fusing 20- to 48-in.-diameter (500- to 1200-mm-diameter) pipes. The productivity tool consists of a series of pipe racks and powered pipe stands that can hold a day’s worth of pipe lengths. The pipe is stored in a single location and is always ready for use, allowing heavy machinery to work elsewhere on the site. A single fusion machine operator can maneuver pipe onto the integrated powered pipe stands and into the pipe fusion machine with the use of a remote control. Ultrasonic level transmitter
The Series ULF ultrasonic level transmitter is designed to offer continuous, maintenance-free, non-contact measurement of open channels. The ULF operates on ultrasonic technology and is designed to offer dependable, highly accurate measurements. It features easy programming with a four-digit LCD screen and a simple menu format. It is suitable for direct installation over weirs and flumes, and compensates for a variety of environmental conditions such as vapors, gases, temperature variations, and wind. ECOFLO®100 is a corrugated, dual-wall, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe manufactured with a minimum of 40% recycled HDPE. The pipe is designed to offer a 100-year service life. It is created using an engineered resin blending technology with a proprietary antioxidant-boosting ingredient designed to reduce the potential for cracking and oxidation. Prinsco Inc. The line of RTD & Thermocouple sensor assemblies feature a variety of sensor heads in aluminum, stainless steel, cast iron, polypropylene, and explosionproof models in a variety of configurations to meet an assortment of application requirements. Assembly options include terminal blocks or transmitters for data transfer; HART protocol transmitters; thermocouple elements; grounded or ungrounded elements; thin-film or wire-wound RTDs in Class A or Class B; and two-, three-, and four-wire RTDs. Digital pressure gauge
The DPG409 series of digital pressure gauges features a backlit display designed to make it possible for users to read from more than 10.7 m (35 ft) and a stainless steel enclosure designed for wash-down, sanitary, and marine applications. Ranges from vacuum to 5000 lb/in.2 are available, and all units include setup software designed to allow quick installation and calibration via a USB connection. A wireless transmitter option sends readings to remote locations and enables personal computer-based chart recording and data logging. Omega Engineering Inc. (Stamford, Conn.).
The Model 5 1220 0050 portable hydraulic hacksaw will cut up to 24-in.-diameter pipe at 90 degrees in one pass. It is suitable for onsite cutting of pipes, tanks, structural steel, and many other materials. The hacksaw’s compact, lightweight (13.5-lb) design makes it easy to handle and operate, even in confined spaces. Designed for use under water and in EX Zones with hazardous atmospheres, it is suitable for industrial plant and water utility maintenance. CS Unitec Inc. (Norwalk, Conn.).
Mini submersible level transmitter
The 700 series submersible level transmitters continuously measure water level in wells and other clean-water applications where an opening or well head is too small for conventional level transmitters. It has a 0.63-in. outside diameter and a semiridged and slick polyethylene cable, allowing it to fit into pipes with a small inside diameter. MJK North America Inc. (Lake Bluff, Ill.).
The TCS3020 toroidal inductive conductivity sensor is designed to provide a non-contacting inductive-type conductivity measurement, and is resistant to corrosion, coating, and fouling. The sensor, designed for long-term deployment with no maintenance, is constructed from Noryl and has a wide solvent tolerance and temperature stability to 105°C. It can be either submersible or installed in-line and includes an ATC measuring element and 20-ft (6-m) cable. The sensor also can be combined with the TCSMA toroidal transmitter or the TCSTX toroidal transmitter for complete conductivity measurement. Sensorex (Garden Grove, Calif.).
The DR 3900™ spectrophotometer features radio frequency identification (RFID) technology and is designed to simplify water analysis by walking users through testing procedures to ensure consistently accurate results regardless of the user’s knowledge. The system takes 10 readings of a prepared sample from different angles and removes outliers caused by scratches, flaws, or dirt on glassware. RFID allows hands-free calibration. The system is designed to automatically recognize the lot, expiration, and calibration curves associated with each TNTplus® chemistry sample. When the operator places a TNTplus box next to the machine, the system updates calibration factors and lets the user know if the chemistry is expired. Hach Co. (Loveland, Colo.).
The Traceable® ultra-low flowmeter is compact, fully contained, and ready to operate with no assembly required. It features four-button operation and a liquid-crystal display (LCD) showing current flow and total accumulated flow. The meter may be used with fluid temperatures from 32°F to 122°F (0°C to 50°C). The meter enables users to adjust a viscosity compensation correction and includes a wall power adaptor and battery connector for portable use. The meter comes with a 1-year warranty and draws little power so it will run for 6 months on a car battery. The housing is constructed of chemical-resistant ABS plastic. Control Co. Stainless steel enclosures
The Eclipse Junior (EJ Series) enclosure series is now available in Type 316 grade stainless steel, which offers increased corrosion resistance for installation in aggressive chemical areas, as well as in the traditional Type 304 grade stainless steel. Designed for use as instrument enclosures; electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic control housings; electrical junction boxes; or terminal wiring enclosures, the EJ Series features a formed lip around the door aperture to prevent liquids entering the enclosure, a continuous foam gasket provides seal, and a quarter-turn latching system secures the door to prevent unauthorized access without a tool. The OilClean bioremediation system is designed to optimize treatment utilizing onsite and remote system management capabilities to monitor water quality in the treatment zone and to balance nutrients and dissolved oxygen. The sensors measure water quality and automatically distribute oil-eating microbes, nutrients, and oxygen via the OilClean Control Panel to naturally degrade oil and restore oil-polluted ecosystems. Microbes continue to multiply until the oil is gone and will not harm the environment. Effective for pretreatment of oil-polluted waste, the system also is suitable for treatment in sensitive marsh and wetland environments and for groundwater and soil remediation. Submersible wastewater pumps
Bell & Gossett Impact™ high-efficiency submersible wastewater pumps are designed for use in commercial and building services applications where wastewater or drainage must be disposed of quickly, quietly, and efficiently. Featuring a self-cleaning impeller and casing, the pumps are specifically configured to process solids more easily and reduce clogging while improving hydraulic efficiency. The pumps feature an air-filled motor, dual mechanical seal, and a specially designed seal chamber that improves overall pump efficiency and durability. Remote valve operator
The Flexi-Drive valve actuator is designed to enable remote operation of valves located in hard-to-reach and dangerous areas. Flexi-Drive has proven effective for use in the power industry and chemical, petrochemical, and oil-processing industries. The actuator attaches to the host valve with no modifications required. A patented flexible linear drive cable connects the valve to a hand wheel up to 200 ft away, accommodating 540 degrees of bends in the cable run. Flexi-Drive is completely submersible, operating in water up to 50 ft deep. It is constructed of corrosion-resistant Type 316 stainless steel and designed to withstand temperatures from –65°F to 400°F. Smith Flow Control Ltd. (Witham, England).
Colorimetric on-line analyzer
The CA-6 colorimetric on-line analyzer is designed to perform colorimetric- or ion-selective electrode-based laboratory analyses accurately and reliably, providing engineers with a user-friendly and cost-effective measurement solution for water or wastewater. The CA-6, weighing less than 40 lb, is connected to waste and reagent lines to perform its preprogrammed analysis sequence. The CA-6 is available with up to four channels, each from a separate sample point. The system utilizes photometric differential absorbance to analyze more than 20 common parameters, including aluminum, silica, phosphate, iron, and sulfate. Other features include simple menu structure, touch-screen interface, rugged cold-rolled steel cabinet housing that is epoxy-powder coated, two separate compartments that isolate liquids and electronics, and the ability to program numerous analytic configurations.
