Sewer Main Size Limit for Private Service Lateral

Does your agency have a policy or practice which limits the size of sewer main which you allow a private service lateral to connect, such as for a home or commercial business?

Our Utility will allow a connection to 6" through 12" lines only.  All mains larger than 12" are not eligible for a direct tap or wye.
