I am searching for a laboratory that can analyze for thiourea. We have an industry discharging thiourea that's placing a significant chlorine demand on our WWTP. We have analyzed it on a UV/VIS spectrophotometer at 236 nm but need a 3rd party verification with a more sophisticated instrument e.g. LC-MS or other proven analytical methodology. Has anyone encountered an industry discharging a strong reducing agent that consumes their chlorine? If so, I would appreciate talking to you. Thanks.......Guy 510-477-7670

Have you found any labs doing this analysis yet? Thiourea is a nitrification inhibitor so if it is being discharged it would effect ammonia treatment. It would be good to check when we have a high ammonia as to wheither thiourea was present.
