<p>You are not very specific as to foaming.  Is this the ability/capacity for a high solids sample (mixed liquor, digester) or influent/effluent stream sample to foam and cause settling issues and subsequently loss of solids?  If it is then get a hold of Dr. Jenkins et al, "Causes and Control of Activated Sludge Bulking, Foaming, and Other Solids Separation Problems", 3rd Edition, Lewis Publishers, ISBN No. 1-56670-647-5.  The manual has several techniques you can use to determine foaming of specific samples.</p></root>
