Hello to All,

At our small WWTP (0.3 MGD) we are looking forward to perform a structural assesment to the oxidation ditch since several months ago we had a very active seismic activity month.

For this same reason, we need to temporarily relocate our sludge contents. We have plenty of space in our emergency basin and it would not be a problem at all. Currently we have an average of 45% volatiles content in our Mixed liquors: in your consideration,

-Should we leave our contents in our Emergency basin and start a new inventory in order to get rid of the high % of inorganics? or,

-Should we just return our sludge back and keep business as usual? we are not experiencing any operational troubles at the time.

Your input is extremely appreciated.

watertech,

I would transfer the contents of the ditch to your emergency storage tank, hose ditch down, and do a thorough inspection.  Then you will know for certain whether or not there is any compromise to the tank's integrity.
