The ASCE Report Card on infrastructure reveals a compelling case for investing in water and wastewater. How can we communicate this critical evidence to build public support for infrastructure investment? With wastewater infrastructure needs estimated at over $390 billion over the next 20 years public support will be essential to meeting the challenges ahead. A long term and continuing public education and engagement strategy is essential.
Leveraging Liquid Assets Part III Web-cast

A multi-media campaign is being organized by WEF, NACWA, ASCE, and other sister organizations, to elevate water and wastewater infrastructure to the public debate. The centerpiece of the national promotional effort is a major PBS documentary produced by Penn State University called "Liquid Assets." In Part III, we followed progress by local organizations to maximize viewership, build partnerships, and organize special events that generate local dialogue on infrastructure investment. Penn State Public Broadcasting offers additional advice for working with local public television stations. Fresh ideas for leveraging Liquid Assets are shared by local organizers to help spark creative thinking.
