| Pink fecal coliforms? What does this mean? Using Method 9222 D, I sometimes get pink coliforms when I expect only blue. Does this mean that my sample is TNTC or does it just mean there are other than fecal coliforms?

| | Pearl, It may be the rosolic acid that gives the colonies the red color (although it id suppose to inhibit confluent growth), they should not be counted as fecal coliform colonies.
