| Does any one care to share thier written safety shoe policy?

| | Field employees must wear steel toed safety boots at all times while working. The District will pay the actual cost of the safety boots up to a maximum of $150. Any amounts spent on safety boots over $150 must be paid by the employee. Safety boots will be issued on an as needed basis, typically every twelve (12) months. Replacement of worn out boots that are less than a year old must be authorized by the Uniform Committee. Our Uniform Committee consists of one supervisor that has the ability to issue purchase orders. Good luck. M. Mohr Truckee Sanitary Dist.

| Our policy is similar to Truckee San District, except we allow two pair per year.

| | Our contract reads as follows: "Employees in the following classifications shall be required to wear ANSI approved protective boots when performing their assigned duties: {a long list including operators, mechanics, biosolids people, industrial pretreatment people, etc}. Employees in the following classifications shall be required to wear closed-toe and closed-heel leather footwear: {lab people}. ... The COUNTY will provide up to $150.00 per year for purchase or repair of such protective footwear subject to the employee providing a receipt." Every year, whether you need it or not, there is $150.00 budgeted for you to buy shoes/boots. We call it the "boot allowance". All you have to do is provide a receipt and you get reimbursed. The receipt can be for the safety shoes/boots or for repair of shoes/boots. Some people use this allowance up every year, and some don't. Because it can be rather expensive to buy a good pair of steel toe boots, I know of one agency that allows $250 over a two-year period. The thought is that it allows you to buy a nicer pair of boots up front that will last longer. I hope this is helpul!

| | WOW 150 buck for steel toe boots.. that is a nice deal.. My company pays 100 bucks for boots.. The sad fact is that to find good qauitly boots are $ 150 or better. I dont skimp on the qaulty boots.. they comfy to my poor feet. |

| | I have bought steel toe boots from many stores for average price of $100 , you can find some good prices Mason Boots at Mason shoes store. |

| | At Springettsbury Township all union employees are required to wear a 6" high slip ristant electrical hazard resistant crush resistant shoe meeting ANSI Z41 PTpp, Z41 PT91 or C/75 I75 standard. The boot is not allowed to be modified. This is part of the union contract and there are penalities for non complience. The Township does pay for these boots up to $150. |
