Co-located with the 12th IWA Specialist Conference on Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA2017), WEF will host a 2 day Stormwater Seminar on the use of smart systems/big data for innovative approaches to stormwater management.

The seminar will focus on the following topics:

  • Prepare and understand how to use big data in stormwater management programs
  • Using stormwater big data to make local effective management decisions
  • How to bring big data into your current stormwater program and how to embrace innovative management techniques
  • Understanding the regulatory climate around big data
  • Reviewing lessons learned from traditional monitoring and planning for the big data change and impact
  • Can intelligent systems and big data assist in closing the stormwater funding gap?
  • Understanding smart stormwater systems – Case studies on barriers to adoption and how they can be countered

Program

The Water Environment Federation will hold an interactive two-day Stormwater Seminar, in conjunction with ICA2017 (www.ica2017.org), on the use of smart systems/big data for innovative approaches to stormwater management.

This event will be beneficial to students, professionals exploring stormwater data management options, and those currently involved in all aspects of stormwater management.   Participants will enjoy coffee breaks and lunch each day and will also receive a workbook of presented materials.  Seminar attendees can register for additional programming (fees apply) including: the full ICA 2017 conference; Sewer-related Wednesday only at ICA2017; and the Wednesday ICA2017 conference dinner.
