Bridging the Middle East Divide Water access disputes reflect long-standing conflict between Palestine, Israel
Shaddad Attili, water and environment policy advisor for the Palestinian Liberation Organization’s Negotiations Support Unit, was in Washington, D.C., June 14 to discuss what he calls a “catastrophic” situation for the people of Palestine.

Click on the image for a larger, PDF view of the map. | Attili, along with the group’s legal advisor Fuad Bateh, presented “Water and the Two-State Solution: Palestine and Israel.” The pair spoke on Israel’s effects on Palestine’s water access and touched upon the current feasibility study regarding the possible construction of the Red Sea–Dead Sea Canal.
