As I travel and meet with many of our Member Association (MA) members and leaders, I am faced with the sobering reality that not only is the Water Environment Federation’s (WEF; Alexandria, Va.) membership not growing, but neither is the membership of most MAs. The reality is that we are growing older more quickly than we are able to find replacements — not only to participate in our association, but more importantly to carry out our jobs and responsibilities as we retire from the field. George Byron Crawford, P.E., died on Jan. 22. A life member of the Water Environment Federation (WEF; Alexandria, Va.), George joined the organization in 1948 when it was known as the Federation of Sewage Works Associations. Read more here.
