WEF Announces Residuals and Biosolids 2008: Traditions, Trends and Technologies 

Alexandria, Va. - The Water Environment Federation (WEF) will present Residuals and Biosolids Management 2008: Traditions, Trends and Technologies from March 30-April 2, 2008 at the Philadelphia Convention Center in Philadelphia, Penn.

Coordinated by WEF’s Residuals and Biosolids Committee, in cooperation with the Mid Atlantic Biosolids Association, New York Water Environment Association and the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association, this 22nd annual conference will address the higher regulatory requirements facing municipal, industrial, and agricultural facilities for residuals and biosolids management.

Around the world, industrial as well as agricultural communities are moving towards higher regulatory requirements for residuals processing, handling and disposal or beneficial use options. This conference will strive to meet the needs for education, awareness, knowledge, and acceptance of best management practices through workshops, technical sessions, and an exhibition. Conference topics include: research and development activities; land application, land reclamation and managing nutrients; agricultural impacts/ manure management; facilities operation and management; advances in stabilization technologies; bioenergy; odor control sustainability; regulatory and legal Issues; Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regional issues; and future opportunities and trends.

Encouraged to attend are agronomists, soil scientists, farmers, agriculturalists, landscapers, design engineering and construction professionals, municipal wastewater and water treatment system managers, pollution control equipment manufacturers, local, state and federal regulatory agency personnel, industrial water and wastewater treatment professionals, residuals and biosolids generators and appliers, and organic and inorganic residuals managers.
