The RESÉAU environnement invites you to attend the 2006 WEFMAX Meeting in Montréal, Quebec, Canada.

WEFMAX is unlike any other meeting providing the members of the House of Delegates, MA Leaders, and WEF Staff an opportunity to meet, discuss challenges, and share successes.

Meet WEF Vice President Adam Zabinski, WEF President-Elect Mohamed Dahab, and WEF Executive Director Bill Bertera at this meeting. Please take a moment to get to know your WEF Leadership prior to attending.

Meeting Adjourned

Through the efforts of the RESÉAU environnement, the meeting portion of WEFMAX will be held offsite from the Hotel at the famous Biosphère, now operated by Environment Canada to showcase environmental education. One of Montréal’s architectural masterpiece since the 1967 World Fair, the Biosphère is located in the former American pavilion created by the visionary architect Richard Buckminster Fuller (1895-1983).

Additional information, including details on social events, meeting agenda and getting to and from the Biosphère will be sent to each attendee three weeks prior to the meeting.

The RÉSEAU environnement has blocked a limited number of hotel rooms at the Gouverneur Hotel with a special rate per night of $136.00 (US) / $160.00 (CAD) for single occupancy or $148.00 (US) / $174.00 (CAD) for double occupancy. A charge of $20 (CAD) per additional person(s) will apply in triple or quadruple occupancy. Rooms comes with the buffet breakfast.

This rate is only available until 5:00 pm on Monday, April 3, 2006. Attendees are responsible for making their own reservations by contacting the hotel directly or reserving your room on-line. When making a reservation, please advise the hotel you are attending the “WEFMAX Meeting” hosted by the RESÉAU environnement.

All reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card. Cancellations must be made by 6:00 PM the day of arrival in order to avoid penalty and guest must obtain a cancellation number. For those guest who would like to stay at the Hotel longer, this rate will be honored two days prior and two days following the scheduled event date. Credit identification will be required from each individual at check-in, in order that these charges may be billed to the individual’s account. All rates are subject to Federal tax (GST) currently at 7%, Provincial tax (PST) currently at 7.5% and a Occupancy tax of 3% and are subject to change. Check-in time is 4:00 pm and check-out time is 12:00 Noon.

Parking: Indoor parking is available at $16 per day (CAD)

Weather: Temperature averages in March range from a daytime high of 65, to a night low of 45 degrees with an average of 2.7 “ of rain.

Airport Transportation

Travel Requirements for US Citizens – Beginning December 31, 2006, all US citizens will need a passport to travel to and from Canada. At this time, U.S. citizens must have the following documentation in order for entry into Canada. Proof of U.S. citizenship such as a passport or certified copy of your birth certificate issued by the city, county, or state you were born in the U.S., AND a photo identification such as a current valid drivers license (please note that a drivers license is NOT a valid proof of citizenship and is only used for the purpose of photo identification)
