Active
$82/year
plus local WEF Member Association dues for U.S. and Canada.

The Active member category is designed for individuals participating in the water quality profession and its activities. This category includes the following benefits:

  • Subscriptions to Water Environment & Technology (WE&T) and WEF Highlights, as well as discounts on subscriptions to Water Environment Research (WER) and other WEF Newsletters
  • Member discounts off of conference registrations and up to 20-40% off of technical manuals, books, and training products
  • Access to online resources, including Technical Discussion groups and the WEF Job Bank
  • And more as listed on the menu to the left


Professional Wastewater Operators (PWO)
$44/year
plus local WEF Member Association dues for U.S. and Canada.

The PWO category is designed for individuals involved on a daily basis in wastewater treatment, collection, or laboratory operations. PWO members have access to all Active member benefits, as well as the following:

  • Operations Challenge - Held annually at WEFTEC®, Operations Challenge is regarded as the "championship" competition, testing the skills of wastewater professionals in the areas of Collections, Laboratory, Maintenance, Process Control, and Safety events.
  • Skills Builder - Test your knowledge of Wastewater and Laboratory Topics using SkillsBuilder. You can take a quick refresher before the big test, or just brush up on your knowledge!


Young Professionals Program
$44/year
plus local WEF Member Association dues for U.S. and Canada.

Water quality professionals with five years or less work experience in the industry and under 35 years old are eligible to join WEF as an Active Member while participating in the WEF Young Professionals Program.  This program is valid for the first three years of WEF membership.  This program is available only to new member applicants and WEF Student members, and will also apply to the local WEF Member Association (MA) dues, if your MA is a participating WEF Member Association.


E-Global Professional
$20/year
available to members outside of the U.S. and Canada

E-Global Professional membership is available to all individuals outside of the U.S., U.S. Territories, and Canada, and includes a variety of premier membership benefits, provided in an electronic format.  

E-global Professional membership includes:

  • Belonging to a global network of water quality professionals, like you, working to make our world a better place to live
  • Electronic subscriptions to Water Environment & Technology and WEF Highlights
  • Member discounts on WEF technical publications, scholarly journals, and technical trade journals
  • Access to downloadable Technical Practice updates and WEF Classic publications at no charge
  • Contribution and influence, as a full-voting member of the Water Environment Federation


Student
$20/year
plus local WEF Member Association dues for U.S. and Canada.

Student membership is designed for the specific needs of students--our future water quality professionals--as it offers Student members a solid foundation on which to build their careers and gain instant credibility with water quality leaders.  Students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours in an accredited college or university and who provide written documentation verifying their student status are welcome to join WEF at special discounted rates.  Note: A faculty or advisor must sign the verification on official school letterhead within 30 days of joining. 

Students enjoy access to all Active member benefits, as well as the following:

  • Scholarships
  • Student Member Discounts - Save up to 50% off of technical manuals and books, as well as FREE registration to WEFTEC®, WEF Specialty Conferences and WEF Webcasts.
  • Access to University Center - Online resources including Career Resources, listings of Student Chapters and local WEF Member Associations, and WEFTEC for Students.

For Companies -

Corporate Membership
$250/year
plus local WEF Member Association dues for U.S. and Canada.

When you join WEF as a Corporate member, you are supporting the water environment profession and affiliating your organization with the leaders of the water quality field.  WEF also welcomes any organization that supports the preservation and enhancement of the global water environment.  One corporate contact, from the Corporate member organization, is entitled to all Active member benefits as well as the following:

  • Access to a powerful, specialized community where you can exchange ideas and share solutions with other water environment professionals during WEFTEC®, WEF Events, and local WEF Member Association events,
  • Special recognition for contributions to the water quality field and/or the Water Environment Federation,
  • Annual subscriptions to Water Environment & Technology (WE&T), Water Environment Research (WER) in print, Water Environment Regulation Watch, and WEF Highlights.

Associate Membership

This category is designed for those companies who are suppliers and service providers to the water environment field and who desire to partner with the water environment community to do business more effectively.  This is an ideal membership category for the following:

  • consulting engineering firms,
  • companies who design manufacturing equipment.

One Associate member contact is entitled to all Active member benefits as well as the following:

  • Savings of $6 or more per square foot on booths at the WEFTEC® Exhibition, as well as a savings of $650 per 10' x 10' booth at WEF Specialty Conferences
  • Annual subscriptions to Water Environment & Technology (WE&T), Water Environment Research (WER) in print, Water Environment Regulation Watch, and WEF Highlights,
  • Electronic listing of WEF Members who are Manufacturers' Representatives,
  • Direct access to over 34,000 water quality professionals from around the world.
