WEF Updating Existing Sewer Evaluation and Rehabilitation Manual of Practice

The Technical Practice Committee (TPC) of the Water Environment Federation (WEF) is updating its manual of practice titled Existing Sewer Evaluation and Rehabilitation, first published in 1983.  The publication will be produced following the TPC’s consensus review procedures on a 20-month schedule and is scheduled for publication in September 2007.  This Third Edition of the manual will cover such topics as the history of sewer development, methods of structural and hydraulic evaluation, and sewer rehabilitation methods and materials and their effectiveness. The manual is being written and updated for use by plant superintendents, collection systems employees, managers of plant operations or maintenance, engineers, public officials, professors, and consulting division managers.

The Technical Practice Committee (TPC) disseminates the state of practice to WEF membership through (a) the development of technical manuals of practice, special publications, and other documents for publication by the Federation; (b) participation by members of the Technical Practice Committee in efforts by other Federation committees when requested; and (c) as requested, the review of documents and publications that relate to matters of technical practice for the purpose of advising the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and other Federation committees.
