Asset management has been a hot topic for the past ten years in North America and has been the subject of numerous papers and workshops at many conferences, in particular WEFTEC. Utilities are facing tremendous challenges today in the areas of deteriorating infrastructure, revenue and funding issues, stricter regulations, increasing customer demands and even climate change. Asset management is a proven concept that can help utilities minimize the overall cost of asset ownership, while meeting customer levels of service at an acceptable level of risk.
Webcast 1: Incorporating Leading Asset Management Practices into your Utility’s Culture

Many Utilities have initiated programs and are progressing well; however, many more are struggling on approach to asset management, the value proposition for utilities, a practical implementation methodology and the overall governance model for asset management. The webcast provides practical guidance on each of these topics by recognized experts in the AM field. These speakers will provide an overview of the leading practices relevant to their topic with supporting case studies and lessons learnt for the audience. The audience can expect to better understand AM and should be able to pick up tips and ideas to validate their own program, realign it if necessary or develop the rationale to initiate one if they haven’t already done so.

Webcast 2: Implementing Key Asset Management Concepts of Level of Service, Risk Management and Asset Management Plans

Building on the Asset Management overview in Webcast # 1, detailed guidance is provided on key asset management elements of Levels of Service, Risk Management and Project Prioritization and the development of Asset Management Plans. These are foundational elements in asset management and should be mastered if a Utility is to achieve the benefits of effective asset management. Our experienced speakers will provide a step by step approach for addressing each of these concepts. In addition, they will discuss case studies and provide the audience with learnings and areas for early implementation wins.
