Awards
The Stockholm Junior Water Prize competition consists of three levels--state, national, and international. There are also awards given at the regional level, such as local science fairs, to honor water projects and encourage participation in the state competition.

Local Competition Awards
  • Local winners receive a Water Prize Certificate and are encouraged to enter their project in the state SJWP competition.

State Competition Awards

  • State winners and their teachers receive an all-expense-paid trip to the national competition. The 2008 competition will be held June 19-21 in Orlando, Florida.
  • State winners receive an SJWP medal, a 1-year complimentary WEF student membership, and the opportunity to be published in the scientific journal, Journal of the U.S. SJWP.
  • The state winner's school receives a plaque recognizing their contribution to water research.
  • Some states may offer additional awards. For information on your state, consult the State Deadlines and Awards List.

National Competition Awards

  • The U.S. national winner receives an all-expense-paid trip to Stockholm, Sweden, to compete in the international competition. This event will take place August 17-23 during World Water Week. For more information about the international competiton, visit www.SIWI.org.
  • The U.S. national winner receives $3000 and a sculpture award.
  • The U.S. national winner and up to three finalists receive an all-expense-paid trip to display their research at WEF's annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC®). This year's conference will take place October 18-22, 2008, in Chicago.
  • The U.S. winner's school receives a $1000 education grant to enhance water science education and research in the classroom.
  • Up to three finalists receive $1,000 each.

International Competition Awards

  • The international winner receives a crystal sculpture and $5000.
  • The international winner receives an all-expense-paid trip to display their research at WEF's annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC®). This year's conference will take place October 18-22, 2008, in Chicago.
