Lynn Orphan is the 2005-2006 Immediate Past-President of the Water Environment Federation (WEF), an international organization of water quality professionals headquartered in Alexandria, Va.
She is currently watershed sector leader at Kennedy Jenks Consultants, a firm with 20 offices in the United States. In that capacity, Lynn works on a broad range of water projects including wastewater treatment, solids handling, potable and recycled water supply, water resource planning, groundwater recharge, wetlands, flood control, storm water quality management and watershed facilitations. |

A WEF member since 1980, Lynn has served on the Executive Committee (now Board of Trustees) and the Water Reuse Committee. In addition, she has been an active member of the Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA) serving as treasurer, vice-president, president, past president, director and Government Affairs committee chair. Lynn is also a member of the California Water Environment Association (CWEA), American Water Works Association (AWWA), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Nevada Water Resources Association (NWRA), and has been active in the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
A 1996 recipient of WEF’s prestigious Arthur Sidney Bedell Award, Lynn received both a B.S. and M.S. in civil engineering from the University of Nevada-Reno. | |
