Daniel Nolasco is a 2005-2006 member of the Board of Trustees for the Water Environment Federation (WEF), an international organization of water quality professionals headquartered in Alexandria, Va.
He is currently President of the consulting group Nolasco & Assoc. Inc. and a professor of environmental engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a treatment process specialist, Daniel has contributed to the planning, design, optimization and modeling of several wastewater treatment plants in North America and in Latin America. |

A WEF member since 1989, Daniel currently chairs WEF’s International Coordination Committee and represents AIDIS Argentina on the Board of Trustees. As President of WEF’s Committee in AIDIS, he organized the Operations Challenge in Argentina. He is also a current member of WEFTEC’s International Program and Industrial Program Committees and has been a member of the Municipal Program Committee.
Daniel has published over 60 articles and papers in peer-reviewed journals, technical magazines and books. Currently, he is working as co-author of WEF’s Manual of Practice (MOP-11) on Operation of Wastewater Treatment Plants and is assisting in the translation to Spanish of WEF’s Activated Sludge Process Control Training Manual. He previously co-authored WEF’s MOP-9 Activated Sludge, 2nd Edition. In addition, Daniel is also an active member of the Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO), Asociación Interamericana de Ingeniería Sanitaria y Ambiental (AIDIS), and the International Water Association (IWA).
A 1998 recipient of WEF’s prestigious WRc Travel Fellowship Award, Daniel received his Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Buenos Aires, his Master of Engineering degree in Environmental Engineering from McMaster University in Canada, and his Master of Sciences in Management of Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He studied also Large Scale Financing (Project Finance) at Harvard Business School and is a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario and a Registered Engineer in Argentina. | |
