Carolyn Ahrens Wieland is a 2005-2006 member of the Board of Trustees for the Water Environment Federation (WEF), an international organization of water quality professionals headquartered in Alexandria, Va.
She is currently a water-law practitioner with Booth, Ahrens and Werkenthin, PC. In that capacity, Carolyn frequently speaks and writes on issues such as water rights and environmental and legislative topics, with a particular focus on water reuse issues. |
| A WEF member since 1992, Carolyn served on the Federation's Board of Directors and on its Legislative Affairs, Constitution & Bylaws, and Water Reuse Committees.
In addition, Carolyn has been an active member of the Water Environment Association of Texas (WEAT), serving as president of the Central Texas Section and on the Executive Board. She has also been chair of WEAT’s long-range planning committee and a member of the Management Review Committee.
Carolyn has held several appointed and elected offices including directorships, chairing a national executive council, various committee chairmanships, chairing the editorial board of a national magazine, liaison positions, and representing the United States on the executive committee of an international association.
She has received WEAT’s President's service award, awards from the Texas Section AWWA for raising the public's level of understanding of water issues and the Texas Water Conservation Association's President's award for outstanding dedication, contributions, and service to the Association and the water resources of Texas. | |
