THE Constantine Jubilee Memorial Park Project has been handed almost Pounds 10,000 to help it regenerate the community space and youth centre.
The Pounds 9,778 from the Sita Trust will be spent on the young children's play park, which is currently broken.
The park project incorporates an outdoor space and indoor venue on the site.
The money comes from the Landfill Communities Fund (LCF), a tax credits scheme allowing landfill site operators such as Sita to contribute to environmental projects.
Eric Nicholls, vice-chairman of Constantine Parish Council, said: We're delighted to have received such a generous grant from the Sita Trust, which will enable us to move ahead with our project to regenerate the children's play park for the benefit of the community. The trust's CEO and chairman Marek Gordon said: We're delighted to have been able to support this project through the LCF. This important source of funding has been available since 1997 and has provided such worthy projects with more than Pounds 1.2 billion.
